There’s
no single ‘best shoe’ – everyone has different
needs. All sorts of things - your biomechanics, your weight, the
surfaces you walk or run on, and obviously, the shape of your
feet - mean that one person's ideal shoe can be terrible for another
person.
Always try on the shoes before purchasing. This
may seem like an obvious statement, but it is important enough
to be repeated. Because every style and every designer's shoes
are cut differently, it is important that you make sure your potential
purchase fits properly and comfortably.
Buy shoes at the end of the day. Our feet go
through a lot each day, and by the end of a long day, they can
expand up to a half a size from physically stress, pressure and
temperature. To make sure your new designer shoes are going to
be comfortable the next time you, and your feet, have a really
long day, try purchasing your shoes at the end of the day. You'll
get a more true fit if you stick to this method of sizing.
Wear the correct type of sock or stocking. When
trying on designer shoes, wear the type of sock or stocking that
you would normally wear with that style of shoe. It's too hard
to make a guess if the shoes will fit properly when you get home,
if you don't wear the right type of sock when you test the shoes.
Shopping for shoes should be fun but don't get
carried away by fashion. You will have to wear these shoes after
your stroll down the shoe store runway is done. Even though you
may be designer shoe shopping, doesn't mean you can't expect comfort
with your designer shoe label. Shoe shop smart!
